Points, East

We had a great time and visit with Leora’s family. Thank you Betty, Leora, Mike and Marvin. They fed us well, even accommodating DR’s vegan diet. They all pitched in and made us feel like royalty. Mike took DR shooting and let him burn up a bunch of ammo. And, best of all, we will never forget the perfect total eclipse party in their diveway.

When we looked at our maps for a new way to get to our next destination Rock Springs, Wyoming, we realized the only route we hadn’t taken before was the interstate freeway (I-15), as opposed to the back roads we prefer.

We arrived at DR’s cousin’s house in Rock Springs in good time with just enough rain to rinse off our solar panels and encountered no return eclipse traffic jam headed South.

David’s cousin Cheryl and her husband Ron had arranged to have most of their progeny over for a BBQ soon after we arrived. They even did a terrific job of accommodating DR’s vegan lifestyle. DR can be such a pain. DR had not spent much time with Ron and Cheryl’s kids and we thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with RD, Lance and their families. It’s nice to finally be able to place faces and personalities to the names that filter through the family grapevine. We spent two nights there so we would have a good chance to catch up with Ron and Cheryl.

Here’s to cousins! They are generally our first and oldest friends.

Love y’all,

DR and Laura
