We left Grande Prairie in hopes of reaching the beginning of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. DR has been mistakenly calling this the AlCan Highway. In actuality a new modern road has replaced the old AlCan Highway for most of the route. It is now referred to as the Alaska Highway.

In Dawson Creek, after our little selfie, Laura did some grocery shopping, and then we fueled up and headed down the Alaska Highway. We made it as far as a little camground called Buckinghorse, on the Buckinghorse River. We stayed inside the van as there were lots of mosquitos.
